Abattoirs and food processing industries could take advantage of biogas plants by aggregating any bio-waste from the process and reduce the load on their water treatment plant. They can use the heat energy in their process, generate power and sell the excess back to the grid. They can save on energy cost as well as waste management cost. They will also reduce trade waste discharge and earn carbon credits.
