Meat and dairy industries can reduce Green House Gas (GHG) emissions by installing biogas plants. Solid and liquid animal manure have been historically good fertilizers, but the gas from the manure is commonly ignored whereas it is the major emission. We can significantly reduce our carbon footprint by capturing the gas and converting it to power and heat. Simply flaring and burning this gas, even without using the energy, is still better for the environment. Other benefits include odour reduction.
